The group working on Partners took advantage of the AGM weekend to discuss their progress on recommendations with the members of the National Council and other key individuals. This is focusing on three particular groupings - (i) Partners who we work closely with and which are likely to participate in the Partners Assembly, (ii) the engagement of stakeholders through the existing Access Management Group and (iii) the organisations which represent mountaineering within each home nation - like Mountaineering Scotland and other key partners or stakeholders. The group aims to give recommendations to the Board in May on:
- The definition of what we mean by a Partner and a Stakeholder
- The BMC Structures into which different types of Partners will fit and which organisations will become part of the Partners Assembly
- The approach to engaging more effectively with our Access, Environment and Conservation Stakeholders.
- How our partners will participate in the Board of Directors and National Council.
The next step is to put a proposal covering all of the points above to the Board of Directors at their 8th May meeting at which we are expecting feedback and all being well their support. Consultation will continue with National Council and subject to their support during 3Q of 2019 we will be developing further how the relationships with our Partners and Stakeholders will be improved.
